Reports To: Engineering Manager

Department: Product Development Engineering

SUMMARY:

Assists engineers in the design and development of electronic products. Builds, tests,

troubleshoots, repairs, and modifies prototypes, production products and test fixtures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

Assists in the development of electronic products using various PC programs and Computer

Aided Design (CAD) tools. Designs include those used in the company�s products, test

equipment and fixtures as required.

Discuss layouts, procedures, problems with Design Engineer. Draws, sketches design

details and functional criteria of electronic modules and units.

Assemble experimental circuitry or complete prototype models according to engineering

instructions, technical manuals and knowledge of electronic components

Recommend changes in circuitry to simplify assembly and maintenance.

Set up standard test apparatus or devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional,

operational, environmental, and life cycle tests to evaluate performance and reliability of

prototype or production units.

Maintains the Product Development Lab, equipment, tools, books and components.

Entry and maintenance of Bill of Materials in Made2Manage.

� PC software, including Word and Excel

� Schematic entry and modification using OrCAD

� SMT and thru-hole soldering

� Electronic parts research

� Interfacing with distributors and vendors

� Read and interpret electronic parts datasheets

Location: Houston, Texas
Compensation: $65,000 - 75,000
